Defining HubHaus

Introduction

HubHaus is more than a restaurant, more than a brewery, and more than an arcade. It’s a place with its own language — words, phrases, and ideas that grew naturally out of food, friendships, late nights, early mornings, hard work, laughter, and a lot of ordinary moments that turned out to be anything but.

This glossary isn’t here to impress anyone. It’s here to explain what we mean when we say the things we say. Some of these terms are practical. Some are playful. Some are deeply personal. All of them are real.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes HubHaus feel like HubHaus, this is our attempt to put that feeling into words.

You’re invited to read along.

Love,
HubHaus

1. Crafted for Occasions

Every detail -- from the food to the beer to the pinball machines to our Haus decorating -- was lovingly crafted for occasions. Not just birthdays or holidays -- but Tuesdays, 2-to-4 afternoons, game nights, lunch breaks, and ordinary nights that turn into memories. HubHaus exists for grateful moments, the "in-between times" our lives are actually made of.

2. Lynnwood

He's our mascot! Lynnwood reflects the unique paths and shared purpose of our four founders: The dairy cow stands for agriculture and industry. The military helmet stands for discipline and excellence. The pickaxe stands for hard work and perseverance. The unicycle stands for playfulness and originality. And the way these components fit together so well... that reveals something even deeper: teamwork and honoring what everyone brings to the table.

3. You’re Invited!

It's more than a slogan... more than the closing words of our social media posts... it's a sincere invitation we extend to everyone. HubHaus is our HAUS, and we invite you to come over.

4. Love, HubHaus

Often, we wrap up our messages with a good ole "Love, HubHaus" and our hand-written signature. Why? Because we're real people, and this is personal.

5. Hub

E'town is the "Hub City," where big highways converge and Kentucky's finest community has grown. Likewise, set in the heart of Downtown Elizabethtown, HubHaus is a hub for connection, laughter, and lasting memories.

6. Haus (pronounced "House")

None of our founders are German, but we do love the Bavarian beergarten culture built around friendship, fine food, and good beer. Regardless of how you spell HOUSE, what's important is the idea of HOME... a place for family and friends. A place you enter, not a product you buy.

7. Family-Friendly

Not just a "bar." Instead... Great food for everyone. Craft beer for those of age. Arcade games for kids of all ages. A safe, comfortable environment where families feel welcome and adults feel relaxed.

8. Restaurant

Way, way more than bar snacks. Locally-sourced, never-frozen beef. Brisket smoked on site. French fries hand-cut on site. Food people call “the best I’ve ever tasted.” Because fun doesn’t replace flavor.

9. Craft Brewery

We brew our own beer. From oatmeal stout to hefeweizen. From festbier and marzen to sours and IPAs. And of course, Haus Lager, Haus Light, and Para Ti for folks who just want a good, "normal beer." Craft without snobbery.

10. Arcade

Retro games: Think a bunch of pinball, Pop-a-Shot, a pool table, and HubHaus chess boards.

11. Haus-Crafted

Usually refers to our beer. Did we mention we brew it ourselves? Don't get stuck on one. Try 'em out. That's why we have a flight option: four 5oz pours... you choose which four beers to try.

12. Haus-Made

Usually refers to our food. We're not big on shortcuts, Team. It's harder to make things ourselves, but we take pride in it.

13. Downtown Destination

The exterior of HubHaus looks like a local landmark on purpose! Big light-bulbbed HUBHAUS marquee on the roof out back. Giant Lynnwood mural on the side. We built a one-of-a-kind destination... designed to be seen, remembered, and returned to.

14. Friends and Family

Before we were HubHaus, before ANY of this, we were brewing beer and cooking delicious food for our friends and family. We've just invited a lot more people now.

15. All-Ages

Well-lit. Comfortable. Safe. Folks don't get out of hand here (if they do, they've gotta go). We want to be a place where kids play, parents relax, and everyone feels like they belong.

16. Singo

Who said "bingo"? We said "Singo." The Haus TVs switch to Singo. The Haus speakers switch to our Singo DJ. You hear a song on your card? You mark it. You mark a line? You win.

17. H. H. Keghänger

Our snazzy beer trailer. The thing that rolls. The thing that shows up at festivals, concerts, and places where HubHaus doesn’t fit inside four walls.

18. H. H. Kegbruder

A two-wheeled marvel of engineering, a man-powered keg transporter... Still don't get it? It's our beer bike.

19. The Barnyard

We have some fun with barnyard mythology around here. Probably came from Lynnwood. We just enjoy expanding the story, the lore. Mooing cows, neighing horses, clucking chicks, goats kicking over beer steins, barnyard brawls... it's one way we tell stories without taking ourselves too seriously — and without ever being fake.

20. Brewhaus

Where the big shiny tanks live, where the hops and malts swirl, where the yeast and sugar do their thing... It's where we make the beer.

21. Joe’s Game Night

Don't just call it "trivia," folks! Well... okay... you can call it whatever you want. It's all good. It's a fun night when local comedian Joe Bennett takes over HubHaus and turns it upside down. It's trivia, it's games and challenges, it's laughs, it's accessible to all ages, and it brings bigger crowds every week. And no matter how many times we say it’s the last one — it never is.

22. Para Ti

"Para" rhymes with Laura. It's Spanish for “for you.” Say "Para Ti" fast and it sounds a lot like “party.” It's our light-bodied, clean, refreshing Mexican lager brewed for cookouts, fiestas, and fun.

FAQ

A Few Things Folks Ask Us

Is HubHaus just a bar?

Nope. Our founders wanted something more — a safe place for families and friends to enjoy time together. We love craft beer, but we’re not fans of over-indulgence. Our vibe is fun, not wild. We’re proud of the environment we’ve built: a spacious facility with high ceilings, clean restrooms, security cameras, and HubHaus team members who understand what makes this place special.

Is HubHaus family-friendly?

Yes. We have arcade games, pinball, Pop-a-Shot, 4-player Pac-Man, chess tables, and bocce ball lanes out back. The space is generally well-lit and inviting, and our team works hard to maintain a positive environment. We love bold flavors, but we also offer simple options for kids — and while we love craft beer, we also craft Haus Root Beer.

Do you need to be 21 to come to HubHaus?

No — but you do need to be 21 to order beer. We check IDs at the bar and drink pick-up station.

Do you need a reservation to come to HubHaus?

No. HubHaus is large, and there’s typically plenty of room. Our team works their tails off to deliver great food and beer to all comers. That’s why you’ll hear us say things like “No RSVP” and “You’re invited.”

Is HubHaus about food, beer, or games?

Yes.
We’ve poured heaps of love and countless hours into every part of this place. From beer cheese to hefeweizen to the big cow mural on Main Street — it’s all Haus-crafted. We care about all of it.

What kind of food does HubHaus serve?

Way above “pub food.”
Local beef in the burgers.
BBQ smoked on site.
A schnitzel sandwich.
Hand-cut fries.

We could go on, but it probably makes more sense to just check out the menu.

What kind of beer do you brew?

All kinds. Lager, Light, Stout, IPA, Amber, Seasonal — you name it. We have fun with flavors (candy-themed brews on Halloween, Nick’s Picks fruity sours), but that’s not our whole identity. Our lane is simply great craft beer. A great craft brewery should be able to nail an American Lager, and we’re proud of ours — Haus Lager, Haus Light, and Para Ti (Mexican Lager). It’s creativity without the snobbery.
